I am fully vaccinated now. I got my second shot today. Somehow I managed to get in a day before my parents got their second one. My husband is scheduled for his second on July 7th and my brother has to wait till he gets an email for rescheduling of his second shot. That being said we won’t be relaxing still for a little while yet. Still going to be wearing our masks and practicing social distance with anyone outside our circles, which are getting a little wider. We’ll also still be avoiding travel outside Atlantic Canada for a little while yet even though tomorrow our borders are opening to the rest of Canada with some restrictions still in place.
I am not sure we are even going to travel outside of Atlantic Canada this year. Since the US is getting safer we may possibly but I doubt it. It’s been a long and really hot month. It’s been a pretty good month though. I have had 24 sales in my first month on Etsy. I have also changed the name of the store to The Paper Craft Co and registered the domain. It just fits better. The domain is pointed right now to the Etsy shop because it is easier than having both a website and Etsy shop and Etsy was where all the sales were.
I also finished the undated planner that I mentioned in the Planner Project post. I did and redid it a few times before settling on this one for my first one. No sales as of yet but some of the other things in my shop are doing well as repeat sales. Mostly gel pens and washi tape which seems to sell pretty good and this set of sticky index memos. I am still working out the accounting and how to keep track of everything and went overboard on Etsy ads so my profits for this month aren’t going to be the greatest but I am sure I will figure it out. I need to find an accounting software (preferably something with a free trial and cheaper plans to start out with) or find or create an excel spreadsheet or something. I will figure it out.
One thing I have been thinking about a lot since I am getting nearer the end of my courses is that I want to have a few revenue streams coming in. My original plan of designing websites and WordPress themes still stands but I also want to sell journaling, crafting, and planning supplies and eventually work into designing some of that journaling, crafting and planning supplies such as washi tape, stickers, etc and low content books such as journals, notebooks, and planners. Last but probably not least I want to continue blogging and use this blog to document all of this and share things I learn, things I make and also look into monetizing it with some sponsored posts or affiliate links that are within or similar to a lot of the things I am into or doing and try and bring in a little income from the blog as well.
I have no real idea where to start with the sponsored posts, though I have some ideas of posts I can do using affiliate links that would fall within the overall niche or nichlessness of my blog. I am determined to keep any monetization as unobtrusive as possible and have it fit within the flow of the blog as I continue with it. My primary goal is to be able to continue to work from home and not work for anyone else but myself and maybe eventually bring my husband on board at least part-time to help me out as he is really interested in all of it and has been excited about it all as much as I have.
