Practicing hand lettering and especially brush lettering has been pretty much an everyday thing. It’s really soothing and enjoyable. In fact, other than school work it’s pretty much all I’ve been doing in my spare time and there’s been alot of it. We are not in a lockdown like the rest of the country is at the moment, however in Nova Scotia we are still under lots of restrictions so lots of home time. I have been enjoying the lettering so much and love it even more than web design. I think that it’ll be a handy skill to have along with web design and want to work on making some money with it eventually.
I have played around with so many apps for both lettering and drawing/doodling including Autodesk Sketchbook, Ibis Paint X, MediBang Paint, Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Sketch and Adobe Draw as well as Infinite Painter and Infinite Design. Infinite Painter won out, though I kept a few of the other ones on my tablet as they are useful as well for certain things.
Here are a few things I did in Infinite Painter:
I’ve also started a digital bullet journal. I’ve been wanting to start one for a while now and have been struggling with how to do it. I’m such a perfectionist at times that I was terrified to start one in a physical bullet journal. I’ve been struggling to find the right app(s) for it. Seems to be a bit of a theme here.. I finally settled on an app called Noteshelf for the bullet journal. I tried so many but could not find one that had all the features I wanted until I found Noteshelf which is perfect. I am a little bothered by the fact I am starting it in February instead of January, but yeah I’ll have to deal 😆
It looks great!!! Well done! A digital bullet journal sounds like something I could do. I’m much better at doing such things in digital form than. in actual paper journals.
I’m the same. I love the idea of a bullet journal but always find paper journalsget set aside and forgotten about. That or I’d make a mistake or mess of it that I felt I just could not fix. as ateen I was great at it but in adulthood not so much. That’s why I initially fell in love with blogging.
This is really wonderful! You know you inspired me to get my own bullet journal and try it! 🙂
Awesome, I hope you do get one and you like it. I failed for February but I think I am going to try again in April.
I really like the hand lettering and the calenders and doodles they are very awesome, I tried MediBang Paint on my desktop and iPad but I did love it like it’s probably better than I know but I like on my desktop at least paint tool sai better.
If you have an iPad I hear that Procreate is the best app. I don’t have one so I have never tried it but there are lots more tutorials for drawing, painting, and lettering in Procreate then most other apps.
I need to do this aka making a bullet journal!
I’m struggling at it and failed for February. I set it all up then completely forgot about it as February took a turn for the worse. I may try it again, or maybe just try some sort of regular planner or something.
Your online bullet journal is so cute! I didn’t even know that was a thing. I tried doing a physical bullet journal a few years ago, but like all other planners, I stop using it shortly after. The bullet journal ended up being more work than I felt like putting into it.
Thanks Deanna, that’s my problem and what happened with this one. I set it all up and didn’t even end up using it. Didn’t really like it anyways. I would like to find a good planner. I used to love using them. And want to use it to help with my school and staying on track.
