I’m still a bit behind in school and still trying to catch up, which has resulted in me trying to do the WordPress course which is usually a 3 week course in 1 week. Kind of sucks but at least I am pretty familiar with WordPress, creating child themes, and so on. I’ve been working on a project called Grind-N-Rise, which is a fictional coffee shop that I have to put together a WordPress website for. So far I think I am doing pretty good. I was hoping the course would go over creating themes from scratch but it doesn’t but it does go over creating child themes. Which is useful if I plan on using a starter theme, framework or theme builder such as Elementor or Genesis, which is what I am using on this site, along with a child theme I have edited.
Other then that I haven’t really been up to much, as with the rest of the world we are going into the 4th wave of Covid and cases are picking up, just as we are going into Phase 5, the last state in reopening Nova Scotia. I imagine this might set us back some, but still on average our cases are still pretty low. Our last big spike was the 9th of May so hopefully we will stay below that and keep things under control as we have been so far. I really don’t have much else to write. I am consumed with school.
Actually we are adding another edition to our family tomorrow morning. A cat named Rascal. My aunt has had her and her brother for quite a long time and she sold her house. She’s been trying to find a house or condo that would allow cats but that is next to impossible in Halifax or Dartmouth right now. She had to settle on an apartment that does not allow pets and she has to give up her dog and two cats. A friend of a friend of my parents is taking the dog and my parents and Eddie and I are taking the cats.
My aunt said they are not all the close so we are splitting them up for now as Rascal is diabetic and too much for my parents to care for and we just can not have 4 cats in this tiny house. So we are going to give it a try and if it does not work then Rascal may end up with Mom and Dad anyways, and I may just have to help out with insulin shots, etc. Not that my parents can’t handle it, it’s just with Dad’s health and mom’s arm they are having a hard time taking care of themselves right now. They also have my brother who is autistic at home and 3 dogs and an outdoor cat (previous Feral that they took in as a barn cat but who is getting more friendly by the day). Oh and chickens!
So yeah, it’s a lot for them so I want to try and see if they are okay away from each other. Don’t worry we will keep a very close eye on them for signs that they are actually a bonded pair and will not separate them if they actually are.
