It’s so hard to make plans for the summer at the moment. I am really struggling with not knowing what the summer is going to be like COVID-wise. At the moment we have been restricted to traveling only within our community which they defined as our municipality. My parents are in a different municipality and so is Edwards work. I can take him to work as long as I go directly there and back. We’ve been asked as well to only buy essential items locally and not hog them. We all remember the toilet paper crisis of 2020 right? So who knows what this summer will be like.
I have been trying to think of ways to make it a little easier on us if it’s like this all summer since at the moment our gathering limit is 0. We can only join 2 households if both are 2 people or less. There is no one we know that we can do that with even though we qualify so it’s just the 2 of us and they are saying the whole summer may be like that. I was thinking about a small pool for the backyard and found a 10ft x 30 inch Intex pool for $150 on Amazon.ca, but it would mean having to find and level out a spot for it which would be too much work, not to mention we can’t get what we need to do it. I can’t imagine a summer without swimming somewhere, ocean, lake, pool or hell even the tub, I don’t really care and no swimming in our tub is not an option 😆
I am hoping maybe to find a barbeque and a porch swing for about $100 each online somewhere or in store if we are allowed to get non-essential items again soon and try and enjoy our yard and firepit a little bit. I was hoping to clean up the old in ground stone firepit, put some gravel in it and place our metal round firepit inside it and get a few camp chairs as well but since we can’t get non-essential items I may have to look online for that kind of thing as well. I really hope that we get cases under control and are able to at least travel within the province and have small gatherings outside (even if we have to social distance I’m ok with that) with family. I am more concerned with protecting them though so we will just have to wait and see.
